West Florida Hospital CT Upgrade

Warren Doors & Access Control was a subcontractor of Lord & Son Construction to upgrade the Computed Tomography (CT) scan area in West Florida Hospital. It was broken into three phases so that there would still be functioning CT rooms available throughout the construction.

Warren Doors supplied and installed five Steelcraft hollow metal frames and Eggers wood doors for the existing radiographic rooms and surrounding areas. Additionally, eight lead lined doors and frames and three window frames & glass for the CT & control rooms were installed. All the lead lined products were supplied through A&L Shielding. A&L Shielding has several decades of experience producing radiation shielding materials for the medical, research and testing industry. They manufacture the various materials required for the shielded construction of diagnostic rooms such as x-ray and CT scan.  All lead lined material was spec’d and provided at 1/16” lead shielding including the radiation shielding glass and lead lined astragals for sound control.

The hospital and architect requested that Warren Doors match the existing door color and hardware throughout the wing. All doors used plastic laminate in Fusion Maple color. And with the exception of the lead lined continuous hinges by SELECT, all the hardware used were products of Allegion. The closers were by LCN, and all other flat goods including hinges and kick plates were by Ives.

The project began 11/29/21 and was completed on 3/8/23.
